How to Address an Envelope in Care of Someone ElseSometimes you need to send a letter to someone who is not currently at their residence, and if you want the letter to reach it's destination in a timely manner, it is important that you know how to properly address an envelope in care of someone else. Follow these simple steps and you can be sure that your important letter will make it to the correct place and person.
Step1 Write the name of the person that you want to receive your letter in the center of the front of the envelope. Step2 Move down a line and write "c/o" and then the name of the person who regularly receives correspondence at the address to which you are sending your letter. Step3 Print the street address on the next line. Step4 Identify the city, state, and zip code that you want your envelope to go to by printing this information underneath the street address. Step5 Put your name and return address in the upper left hand corner of the envelope. Step6 Attach the correct postage to the upper right hand corner and mail.
