How They All Came Together

The band saw it all beginning in emcee/vocalist Mike Shinodas small bedroom studio. This was where Mike and Delson had recorded the band's first material in 1996. They had both attended high school together. At that high school they met the band's drummer, Rob Bourdon. Mike, Brad and Rob had hooked up with DJ Joseph Hahn while studying illustration at Art Center College in Pasadena. While attending UCLA, Brad shared an apartment with the bassist Phoenix, who had left the band after college but yet later returned after a year. The band was not complete till they met their to be lead singer, Chester Bennington, a transplanted Arizona native who had started making records when he was only sixteen. Chester had said, When he was two, he used to run around singing Foreinger songs, he has tapes of him doing that. Since He had learned how to talk he was telling everyone he would grow up to be a singer. This was a dream come true for the boys.
