‘Bathing Engines’, one of a series of interrelated projects, is a design for a repositionable bath and associated embellishments for a beach hut. Its components re-configure their arrangement non-purposively using nearby contingent vectors derived from their use in order to provoke their customisation by the bather; thus the bather becomes both the passive and active agent of particular characteristics of the object.
