Huh Wha?

A Welcome
Welcome to the Breeding Project!  The Breeding Project is my own little endeavor to bring new and unique Norns into the worlds of Creatures 3 and Docking Station.  I hope you enjoy your adoptees from this site, and I would love to hear feedback about any Norns that you've adopted-even if its just to say that they're doing well and having many little Norn-babies!

How is the Breeding Project Run?
Here at the Breeding Project our Norns are hand-picked for their uniqueness.  Our Stage-One stock right now borders at about 1,535 Norns.  The way this program is run, our Norns are split into groups of six (three males, three females), each group of six Norns is called a Project.  Each Project is imported into our breeding world "Maiga'di", where the group is housed in a small one-level containment area (for those of you familiar with it, we use the Agent "Random's Room" to do this.  The Norns are given a set of toys for their enjoyment, basic wolfling-run vendors to keep them fed, and are allowed to run wild in their area until at last, sadly, the group dies out.  In the meanwhile, their eggs are collected in a water-chamber (so they don't hatch), and after the original Project Norns are dead, the eggs are hatched and exported to be sorted for Stage-Two of our breeding project.  In the same manner new Projects are formed and their eggs collected until, hopefully, at last, all 1,535 of our Stage-One Norns have lived out their lives and bred.  Then, the offspring from all of these Projects are sorted and put into their own Projects for Stage-Two... and their eggs are collected for Stage-Three.. this way we can ensure that in-breeding is kept to a minimum and the generation numbers keep increasing. (This is why we also group our lowest generation females with our highest generation males..)

How do you insure that I'm getting a good adoptee?
All of our Norns are certified to meet certain criteria before they are posted for download and/or bred.  The set of criteria are as follows:

1. All of our Norns are genuine Norn-stock, meaning they have not been in contact with any Grendels or Ettins and so are guaranteed to be pure-Norn, and not a mutation between the species.
2. All of our Norns have passed a health inspection to make sure they are not diseased or ill in any way, and that they don't have any "Bad" genetic mutations that would cause them to be comatose or have their lifespan shortened in any other way.  Now, this does not mean that they cannot eventually bear children that may be comatose or live short lives (you can never guarantee such things) But we can guarantee that none of our Norns exhibit these problems openly (those that are born comatose or die young are taken out of the breeding program entirely).
3. All of our Norns are unique in some way.  Now, this doesn't mean that some of our Norns won't look similar or even identical... what this means is that each original Stage-One Norn was chosen because at some point in its life it exhibits a color-mutation of some sort that sets it apart from the original egg-layer stock.  If you download an adoptee from this site that appears to be perfectly normal, just wait, it will change its colors eventually (many of them don't change till adolescence or even adult-hood).  Also, some of our Norns have what is referred to as the "Fast-Ager" gene.. this means that they speed through their childhoods rather quickly and are turned into Adults sometimes in mere seconds.  All of these Norns have been tested to insure that they live a long life once they reach adulthood and do not speed onto senility as fast as thy went through childhood; so if you happen to download one of these Norns, do not worry, it will still live a long healthy life.

How we set up our adoptions...
All of our adoptees (or most of them) are baby-stage when they are downloaded.  The few that are not are because they have the Fast-Ager gene, and could not be exported quickly enough to ensure the baby-stage of life.  Most of these Fast-Agers will be quite obvious as their pictures show them at an older life-stage (most likely adult). We've separated our Norns into Female and Male groupings so that you can easily find the gender of adoptee you are looking for.  We thought this would be the most efficient way to sort them.

Can I add to the Project?
We do accept new Norns into the Breeding Project, but please be aware that again, they have to meet our criteria (no Ettin-Grendel crosses, no diseases, no deadly mutations... have to be unique or have a color-mutation at some point in their life)  You may send in any candidates to cary_morton@hotmail.com.  All admissions will be thoroughly screened and tested before being added to the Breeding Project, so don't expect to see your Norn gracing this page right away.
