Greeting Brethren,
I hope and pray that this correspondence finds you
enjoying the fruits of your labor and May the Great Architect of
the Universe continue to bless you and your families.
In past few months our lodge has participated in the
Martin L. King Day events, conducted our annual Valentines Day
Dinner, attended the District Session, other lodge meetings and
ceremonies, donated canned foods to feed the homeless and
today some of our members even gave up their Saturday to repaint
the entire first floor (inside) of the Schofield Lodge. I would
like to say thanks to every one of you for a great start to the
New Year.
This past Thursday night we had our monthly business
meeting where we discussed and voted on the budget for the
ensuing year, Palm Sunday service with the Order of the Eastern
Star Chapters along with many other topics and
education. Attached to my agenda for that meeting was a copy
of the Grand Lodge registration form for the 2008 Grand
Session. Some of you may or may not know that this
year's Grand Session will be a three-day event instead of normal
two day in the past.
First, the month of June 2008 will be a Black Month for
all subordinate lodges in the Jurisdiction. This means that the
Grand Session is the only meeting in the month of June. The
agenda for the Grand Session will go something like this; Day 1
is a Golf Tournament at the Kapolei Golf Course (I would like to
enter at least two Cosmopolitan Lodge teams). Also on Day 1, is
the official opening hosted by Daniel Chappie James Jr. Lodge
No. 4; followed by a jurisdictional 3rd degree ceremony. On Day
2, we will have official reception of the Grand Lodge Officers
to start the day along with all day one business for the Grand
Lodge (reports). On Day 3 we will have the Grand Lodge
Elections, Installation of Officers and the Grand Lodge Banquet
that night.
Most of these events will take place at the Hilton Hawaii
Prince Kuhio Hotel - all except the opening and the 3rd degree
ceremony on Thursday night. They will take place at the
Schofield Masonic Temple in Wahiawa, Hawaii. I have attached an
electronic copy of the Grand Session Registration form for your
use. The cost is $135.00 dollars per member and this will
include your registration, one souvenir journal, two lunch
meal tickets (Friday and Saturday) and one ticket to the Grand
Lodge Banquet on Saturday night.
Attending this year’s Grand Session will take some planning
on your part as well as ours. First, I am asking that our
members take one or two days of vacation/leave. Take two days
if you plan to play in the Golf Tournament and one day if you do
not. Second, the cost to attend the session is not free and for
most of us, we will need to start saving money now to pay for
the registration fee. Our Lodge Secretary will collect all
registration forms and money; the lodge will provide a receipt
for your payment to the grand session and turn in all
forms and
payment as a lodge.
Lastly, our lodge is tasked to run the registration and
distribute the registration packets at the grand session. Some
of the other lodges are tasked to set up and tear down at the
hotel, open for the grand lodge as well as provide drivers to
take our visiting guess to and from the airport, the hotel and
other locations.
Please take due notice there of and
plan accordingly!
"May Peace and Harmony
Prevail in All of Our Doings"
