CATS
all about catsFirst cats were domesticated at about 4000 years BC. Today's house cats resulted from interbreeding of north-African and European wild cats. They can be white, black, grey, red, or combination of two or more colors. Cats are independent, they like to play, they are known to be very curious, sweet, have several times better eyevision than humans. Their sense of smell is not so well developed as in dogs but they can easily sniff mouse or any other rodent. Cats are very clean animals and they prefer to ease themselves into sand or similar ground so that they can bury their waste. Among other things, cats like to be somewhere warm and none of them like immersing in water, except Turkish Van. They like to sleep a lot, approximately two thirds of their lives they spend sleeping, 12 hours a day minimum. Fingers arrangement is somewhat different than in humans. They have five fingers at their backlegs and four fingers at their forelegs. They have very sharp finger-nails called claws. Average male cat weights about 11 pounds or 5 kg and female cat about 8 pounds or 3,5 kg. Cats living indoors can live up to 15 years while street cats live three times shorter, up to 5 years. So 1 year in human's life equals approximately 4 years of cats life. Despite being long time with humans, cats can easily adapt to living in wilderness, or outdoors, if needed. They can live as individuals or in groups, but when attacking, they always do it each for themselves. Cats are pure flesh-eaters and great predators, so exterminating mouses and rats is one of their characteristics. There are parts of the world where cats are food to people. Just as male dogs, male cats likes to mark their territory. February is a month in which cats mostly mate. When female cat raise her tail up that would tell a male cat that she is available for mating. Male non-neutered cat is called Tom, also non-neutered female cat is called Queen. Newborn and young cats are called kittens.
