are most wide-spread longhaired cats
and when talking about longhaired cats Persian is the first thing
coming to our minds. Persian and Siamese cats are two oldest and most
popular species in the world. They are thought to originate from
Persia, as their name suggests, which is today's Iran. All other
longhaired cats have origins in Turkey. Persian cats are well known for
their exotic beauty and for their cuddliness and sweetness. They are
happiest when someone coddle them in a lap. Their very quiet nature and
sweet voice is what characterize them most, beside their long, soft
hair. They are also friendly and gentle and not very active cats. Have
short and massive body and legs, short tail and neck, and large feet,
flat face or doll face. They can be in various colors, have large eyes,
and small ears. As with all longhaired cats, Persian require much more
attention with their hair, and for the same reason they should not be
kept outdoors. Living indoors they are protected from infections, dirt
and fleas.If anything come into their long hair it may be hard to get rid of it. Persians can live up to 15 years if proper care is given to them. They require daily grooming to avoid hairballs and to keep their hair clean and beautiful. Bathing is needed as with all other cats and is easier to do if a cat is used to it. Except standard longhair Persian cats, there are Exotic shorthaired Persian cats. |
