"Dragons'Origins: By Trynia Merin"

Shadowmaster was getting quite tired of her excuses. He felt that this day he would demand an explanation of his chief scientist as to why she kept acting on her own to kidnap Jess and Jimmy.

As usual he stormed into her lab. The converted room of the castle like structure bubbled with strange concoctions and large tanks the contents of which even he shuddered to think.

What had she been up to lately? Even her evilness frightened him. "What do I owe the honor of your visit?" she asked him, looking up as he stamped in.

"I want to know once and for all why you have this obsession!" he burst out.

"Which obsession," she mused, only half listening to him. "Pick one and rant..."

"You are soo annoying! I mean... argh!"

"I have limited time," said she. "You know I serve only you..."

"Hmm, then why do you persist in this stupid gallivanting on your own, without my orders?"

"Sometimes I feel as if I know you so well, your mightiness, that i can plan what you anticipate. You want what I want. The return of Jimmy and Jess."

Shadowmaster's mouth dropped open. "But your insolence is what I cannot tolerate! What makes you challenge your loyalty!"

"Simple. Family comes first."

"Ah, so you consider us a family. How quaint."

"I mean, family," Gattaca said. "In the biological sense, not the emotional sense."

"Explain!"

"If you would stop fuming i will," said she. "Pull up a lab stool.."

Shadowmaster listened as she spun a long tale. And marveled as the silvery eyes glazed over with a faraway look:

"As you remember I worked for the government. I was one of the scientists sequencing on the Human Genome project. I worked for the NIH, on cloning experiments. I was the best geneticist they had. And my secret goal was to improve upon nature. But then there were those in power who were squeamish. And others who were very interested. So I kept my ambitions to myself.

Then a strange thing happened. One day I recall being in my lab, with my technicians, when a general Blankenship came in with the Lieutenant and a Sergeant. I could tell in his eyes that he had some small minded goal. But he was one of my ardent supporters."

"Dr. Dolleen," he called me. "I have new directives for this lab. From the Council itself..."

"And that would be?"

"A top secret project. Some boys in the Pentagon are very interested in your work. And they want your expertise. The Lieutenant will brief you on Operation Climateshift..."

"Lieutenant Fang, this is Dr. Dolleen..."

My eyes fixed on the Lieutenant. He was quite a good specimen of a man, statuesque, about 6 feet in height, with unusual pigmentation in the eyes. A full regular set of muscles, and adequate intelligence. In fact, rather advanced for a military man.

"Pleased to meet you, Doctor," said he, nodding as he offered his hand. Upon taking it I felt the finesse of his skin texture. Very pleasant indeed. And he glanced over my form as well. And I knew that perhaps I had met a perfect specimen... er human male.

"Spare me the observations, and get on with it!" Shadowmaster grumbled.

Very well, Gattaca continued. As I was saying, he was quite intelligent for a military man. He had been on special operations in Desert Storm, and in Somalia.

He was a military tactician, and a psychologist who studied how men adapted to foreign climates. And he had a theory on how "mind over matter" could allow a soldier to mentally adapt his body to suit any climate.

This caught my attention. For as you know my ability to alter my DNA with pure thought came out of this research i was doing then.

It seemed a match destined for fruit. We spend the next few months together on the project. It was given all manner of funding. I discovered many secret projects the government had been working on.

And in turn I educated him on much genetics. He learned quickly. But there was another side we shared. For he was an accomplished martial artist.

"A lovely gal like you should learn to defend herself," he said, and insistedΠI join him in his dojo. I went there once or twice, to see him in action.

"Take this," he said, all dressed in his gi, white with his black belt, third degree. And tossed me that wooden training sword.

"I noticed you like to jog and weight lift. But how about learning some new skills... in case somebody might try to... steals some top secrets..."

"The chances of that are nil," I said. But he chuckled as his fist flashed out and disarmed me. I was aghast.

"Tell me more," I said. In the next few months we discussed the project by day, and worked out by night.

He taught me all I know now about kickboxing, and Karate. Years of training he poured into me, for I learned fast. For I had already started augmenting my strength with DNA treatments. And I was good.

Then I remember that fateful day when I pinned him to the mat, under my leg. He laughed and looked so cool in his face. Those eyes fixed into mine. And he reached up, and flipped me. I was at his mercy, pinned under his muscular frame. And then he did the unexpected. I felt his lips meet mine. And I knew the inevitable conclusion. For two months later we were married.

And later I became pregnant with twins. It was shortly after that the project was suddenly discontinued. And the Lieutenant was called away for a military campaign in the Middle East.

I was a bit disappointed, but he told me he would return on his next leave. In the time he was gone, I gave birth. To a male and female offspring. They were quite fine, but not quite fine enough.

Taking my augmentations I had been working on, I realized I had the perfect answer. The DNA I had put into my own genome had showed up in them. But physical perfection wasn't enough. They required more. And I had easily reached the solution. I put the advanced DNA for the perfect soldier into two separated virus, and infected each baby. The DNA took well.

"Why did you separate the DNA?"

"It was far too much power for one individual alone. And there are some things nature cannot improve upon. For I knew that someday I would create another fighter who could breed with my own children, and progress to the perfect human. These things have to be done gradually."

But as I was continuing the treatments, he came home. I had known he would be back, but I had forgotten the date and time...

"You forget?" sneered Shadowmaster. "You, the perfect..."

"I was absorbed in my work. My husband returned, to find that the two babies were in a crib in my lab. He became suspicious, and wondered what sort of a mother would expose her children to a dangerous lab where DNA was present."

"I countered by telling him I was merely helping them. Then he saw my notebook upon the counter. And became insane with anger.

"You... experimented on our children!" he thundered.

"I am merely carrying on our work," said she. "They will be the most perfectly adapted soldiers... when they grow up..."

He ripped the notebook to shreds, and I felt the flat of his hand on my face.

"No one slaps me," I gritted, feeling the blood in my face.

He grabbed towards the children, and I stopped him, pinning him against the wall.

"You will pay for this! You betrayed me, your own husband. I will see you in divorce court..."

He made to take the babies, and had hold of the crib stroller. I tried to stop him but he left, children and all, out of the lab. Next thing I know I have hired my lawyer. After a lengthy court battle, the whole issue was suddenly closed. No court was allowed to try the case, because of the sensitive military secrets. In all those months I was separated from my children.

And then that fateful day when the no fault divorce happened. I was calm as I saw the papers. A female officer held them in her hand. An MP. And i heard the cry of a baby girl. My daughter.

"It was the only way," she said. "But you are not permitted to speak of this matter to anyone. We have taken both of you off the project. And as long as you are silent of it, your daughter is legally yours..."

"What of my son?"

"He is with his father. But don't try to find them. They have been given new identities. And you have been reassigned to work for the..."

I took my daughter from her arms. "I will not be needing any favors. I quit. And I will not speak of this to anyone else. But I will not work for a supervisor who takes my children from me!"

I slammed the door in her face. And took my child. Immediately I knew I might be prosecuted for my actions. For showing disrespect and for quitting a job which was top secret. So I decided that no longer would I work for a government. I worked for me.

I changed my appearance easily enough. And took up a job at a pharmaceutical company who was only too glad to see my credentials, even though I had to forge things. Eventually you became aware of my existence. And that of my daughter. But I knew you would never let her train as a warrior. So I hid her identity from you.

"And who is your daughter...?"

"She became a Shadowarrior, shortly after you started funding my research. And then revealed the secret of the Black Flame, and the Shadows to me. And I began to develop my mental powers to their utmost under your training. It was about then, when she was four, that I knew I had to act."

"Who is she?"

"Four years after I started working for you, you remember that little boy you took in, whom you stole from his crib?"

"I know. Jimmy Lee. But what..."

"That gave me the idea. Three years later, you found another child. Whom you thought was a boy. And he was left on your shadow dojo's doorstep. The one you brought to me, and insisted I helped to raise. The way I raised Jimmy. And all the other young ones you found."

Shadowmaster grew impatient. "Get on with it!"

"Patience. You will soon know. Then years later you had your two best students compete for Shadowboss. One of them was injured, and you had him sent to me. But little did you know he was a woman pretending to be a man. So she could fight. And she promised herself to Jimmy that he would never reveal her secret. And later on, she became altered in the form of a wolf..."

His jaw dropped.

"Jessica Fang," said she, looking up at him. "Now you know. For Jess Fang is my offspring..."

"What... how... you!"

"I left her on your doorstep. Knowing full well if you knew I had any connection with the outside world like children they would be captured and used against me to insure my loyalty. But I couldn't let you have that advantage. So I hid her in the best place possible. Right under your nose! For sixteen years!"

"Oh, you are diabolical!"

"Thank you my dear," said she with a grin. "And now you know why I persist. For every woman has some motherhood within. And I want my darling Jess returned to me..."

"This is a rather interesting development," Shadowmaster mused, calming down as he had a look of deviousness on his masked countenance. Gattaca smiled.

"But there is the matter of your missing son. What of him? He was also augmented?"

"Most certainly. But due to the government I don't know what his name is. But I will find him. His name was Jason..."

As Jess was in the dojo doing her workout, her eyes fixed on the small Bokken, or wooden training sword. So many memories were slowly coming back to her. Of early childhood. Back before everything went nuts and she became a Shadowarrior.

Jess could remember one strange day when she was playing in the child care center. And a man with green eyes was looking in at her. It must have been daycare. For she remembered her mommy. Long ago. The platinum blonde hair and the light blue eyes that smiled. But there was distance in them. And she remembered her mommy passing her over the half door to the child care worker.

"Be good now, Jessyca," she smiled, and kissed her daughter on the forehead. She didn't notice the man peering from the visitor's area. Or the little boy with him. But Jess peered at him. Dragon Eyes looked at Dragon eyes. But they were in a handsome man. Who lifted a newspaper over his face as Mommy walked by.

And as her mother left, she played with the other kids. A little boy with green eyes looked at her, and she looked at him.

"Tyler, play with Jessyca. This is Jason Tyler. Jessyca Dolleen. Will you show him where the crayons are?"

"Yes..." Jessyca said.

"He's staying with us today only. But be his special friend, okay?"

Jason and Jessyca played all day. It was as if he seemed so familiar. And she felt as if she knew him. She remembered the day care workers talking. And then it was time to go as a big handsome man was standing over them.

"Time to go Jason," he grinned, and leaned over to pick him up.

"Daddy no I don't wanna go!" he cried.

"Oh hello there, are you a new friend?" he asked of Jessyca, noticing her there with wide eyes. Dragon eyes looked at Dragon eyes.

"I'm Jessyca and I'm three and a half!"

"I'm Jason's daddy, and I'm glad to meet ya, little lady," he smiled, mustling her hair. She grinned at the warmth of his touch. All so soon it was time to go.

She watched as the dragon eyes looked at hers. And she saw the camouflage uniform he wore.

And his captains bars. She would never forget as she saw the letters 'T-Y-L-E-R' on his uniform. Why did this seem important? Because of what happened next.

Mommy was there scooping her up and glaring at the man. "It cannot be..."

"Shall we step outside?" he asked. And Mommy pushed him and the boy before her. She remembered her Mommy yelling at him. And the pleading look in his eyes as she pushed Jessyca into the car, and clicked the car seat into place.

The man rushed to the door, eyes pleading as he tried to open it. And Mommy drove away.

"But she's my daughter and I wanted to see her!" she remembered the man saying. But it was too late.

Jess cried a bit as she remembered this. Seeing his true love upset, Jimmy came to her side.

She knelt on the floor of the Dojo, the Bokken in her hands.

"What is wrong, baby?" he asked her, gripping her shoulder.

"I... was trying to remember my mother," she said softly, looking up at him with her dragon green eyes.

"What, do you remember?" he asked her. And he knelt next to her as she told him her reminiscing from a few minutes before. His eyes opened wider with surprise.

"You never told me about that before..." he said. "Do you think... that man... was your father?"

"I don't know. But he had the same green eyes as me!"

"But you were only a little kid then. How can you be sure it's your memories?"

"I know how to separate what Shadowmaster put in my head from my real memories. And these are not Shadow memories. These are mine. Gattaca helped me remember..."

"One thing she did to help you," Jimmy muttered.

"I know you're upset with what she's done to us, but she must have a reason for it," said Jess. "If there's one thing I learned real well in the Shadow dojo it was that she always has a reason for everything she does. She's a scientist, even if she is evil..."

"Yah," Jimmy muttered. He could tell Jess was trying hard to grasp at the memory of her father, or what she thought was her father. "What else do you have to tell me? I can tell when something's on your mind and you won't tell..."

She sighed. "And there was a little boy. He looked a bit like the man. And like me. It was like looking into a mirror at a boy that looked like I would look as a boy..."

"But you dressed up like a boy for years," Jimmy teased her. "So did he look like you looked..."

"Oh stop it," she giggled, and then became silent again. "But his last name wasn't Fang. It was Tyrone... or ... "

"Concentrate and maybe you will remember."

"It was Tyler. And there were two bars on his uniform. I think that means he was a captain in the Army! That's the symbol for the rank. And he was wearing camouflage. And Mommy was yelling at him! He said so loud I could hear through the window... I want to see my daughter!"

Tears came into her eyes. "It was my Daddy! It must have been! He wanted me, and he loved me!"

"Yeah he did!" Jimmy said. "To come to daycare just to see you..."

"But why did my parents not get along? They must have been split up, divorced or something!"

"Yeah, that makes sense. Cause it sounds like your mommy didn't want to have anything to do with him, and if your brother was living with him..."

"But why was I taken by Shadowmaster. And why didn't my Mommy stop him? Why did she leave me on the doorstep?"

"I don't know. Maybe Shadowmaster forced her..."

"But he didn't know I was a girl! He took me, and took me into Gattaca. Only she knew I was a girl!"

"And you say Gattaca raised you like her own daughter?"

"Yes. She always held my hand when I had bad dreams. Like my mommy did..."

"What did your mommy do? Can you remember?"

"She wore a white coat. But she always took it off. And she had blue eyes... like yours. And light blonde hair. Nothing like Daddy. He had brown hair like mine. And eyes... like mine!"

"There's something I have a feeling about," Jimmy said. "But I can't put my finger on it."

"What?"

"The story, is weird. And the way Gattaca treated you. I was just thinking maybe she might know something about your mother..."

"You do?"

"Yeah. She's a scientist, and she worked a long time ago in the outside world. If you mother was a scientist, then maybe Gattaca had heard of her or something... and if we just..."

"What? I know that look Jimmy..."

"What if we went and asked Gattaca?"

"Are you nuts?" Jess cried. "She will take us for sure!"

"But not if we just ask a simple question..."

Shadowmaster was intrigued by Gattaca's tale. He began to think of a plan to capture Jess and Jimmy. Turning to her again, he said, "I just was thinking. What if you used that information to get your dear daughter back?"

"What do you mean?"

"Jess is so sentimental, if you tell her you're her mother, maybe she'd feel guilty enough... to return to the fold..."

"Hmm. You may be right. But we do it my way, all right?"

"As you wish. Do not fail me. This might be what we need against her!"

"As you command," said Gattaca as he left. Slowly she reached into a drawer, and pulled out a faded torn photo. In it was a picture of a young woman and a little girl with dragon green eyes on her lap. She crushed the photo to her heart, and then put it down. Slipping it into an envelope, she sealed it shut. Carefully she scribbled the address of the Dojo of the Dragon upon it, and left the building.

It was odd to see her as she morphed into an ordinary citizen, and posted the letter. And smiled.

Later on that week, Billy Lee had a armful of letters for the people in the Dojo. Jimmy rushed up and wanted his Karate magazine, and Chryshana grabbed her Motor Trend weekly.

"Settle down!" Billy said, holding up a hand. He passed a letter to Mike, who took it in his robot hand.

"What is it from?" asked Chryshana.

"From my old computer teacher..."

"Jess, there is a letter here for you," said Billy, holding up a white envelope.

"What?" Jess asked. "Who is it from?"

"It doesn't have a return address. But it's made out to you.."

Jess snatched the letter. With shaking fingers she turned it over in her hand.

"Well, aren't ya gonna open it?"Chryshana asked. Cautiously the cat sniffed the letter, and winced.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing. It's just that i got a whiff of a familiar scent I don't like..."

She ripped open the letter, and saw the simple message. Typed on a word processor. A small rumpled photo fell out onto the floor. Jimmy picked it up and handed it to her. Tears came into Jess' eyes as she read:

My dear daughter! How long I have been looking for you! But I saw the pictures of the students in the Dragon Dojo, and one of them looked so much like you would... if you were older.

I know you don't remember me well. But I have been searching for years. I hired a private investigator, but had no luck. That is not until this year.

When he traced you to Metro City, when people had reported seeing someone that matched the description of what a computer aged photo of you looked like. I was amazed.

I am working hard for a current employer. And I have a steady income. I want very much to meet you and make up for all the time we lost.

You were taken from me long ago. And wherever you are now I cannot hope but expect you would want to see me. If you are angry I will understand. But give me a chance to explain...

Yours, your mother...

Julie DolleenİFang

PS. If you feel you want to meet me, I will be outside the Dragon Dojo this Friday at noon. Where the PI saw your picture. I also love martial arts...

Jimmy and Billy Lee looked at her. Chryshana sighed. Mike was moved as well. All of her friends gathered around, and looked at the picture of mother and daughter.

second photo fell out of the envelope. This one was a family picture, of a handsome Army soldier, a Lieutenant, his wife, and two babies. There was a smile on his face. Jimmy looked at Jess, and saw how much like her Father she looked.

"That was me," Jess said quietly. "I remember. And that picture is of Mommy..."

"She doesn't look much like you," Chryshana said before Billy thumped her foot.

"I look like my Daddy," she said, holding up the other photo. "See how he has green eyes like mine! And brown hair?"

"Yeah, you do look like him," Jimmy said.

Chryshana sniffed both pictures, and her tail straightened out. She hissed.

"What..." they asked.

"That smell is so strong on the pictures!" She cried. "It's... a stench... of the Shadow!"

"No... it cannot be!" Jimmy dismissed. "You're kidding me, right?"

"My nose is far more sensitive than yours!" Chryshana snapped back. "I tell you this might be a trick of Shadowmaster!"

"How could it be?" asked Jimmy.

"She might be right. We should trust her instincts, they have not misled us yet," said Billy.

"See," Chryshana said, wanting to stick out her tongue at everyone who doubted her sense of smell.

"Okay okay!!!" Jimmy said.

"Here is what we do. Jess, you will meet her, but don't let her in here. Take her down the street to have pizza. Jimmy, you will follow them, but you will be at a distance. The rest of us will keep in touch... Mike, do you have a gizmo that can let us hear what's going on?"

"Sure thing," Mike said. "I have a minibug I can plant on you Jess, just in case. We'll hear every word. If you are in danger we'll come running..."

"I feel guilty staking out my own mom!" Jess sighed.

"If Chryshana didn't smell that smell it wouldn't be necessary," Billy explained. "But we have to be careful!"

"All right. Let's do it,"Jess decided.

Meanwhile Gattaca was preparing for her role in this reunion. She walked along the street, towards the Dojo where the letter had said they would meet. Slowly she honed her concentration, preparing for the inevitable meeting.

Her features blurred as she tapped into the genome, to revert. Back to the original. It would not quite be the same, but it would be close enough. Silver eyes merged into blue ones, and silver hair merged into platinum blonde.

Along the street she walked, fully altered to her old appearance. She had not looked this way for so long, for a moment she forgot who she was. For that one split second she believed she was Julie Dolleen, genetic engineer for NIH. Mother of Jess. As her eyes saw Jessica move out onto the street from the Dragon Dojo, she felt her heart leap.

Then her new self returned. "No, i serve the shadow only! I am Gattaca of the shadows. I do its whim! I must not show weakness!"

Gattaca wore a long fur coat over herself, and her outfit looked like a businesswoman's suit with a short skirt. She had high heels on, and looked very much like a woman who worked for a high powered pharmaceutical company. The girl outside the Dojo glanced at her, as if probing, looking to know who it was. Dragon Eyes looked into teal blue eyes that sparkled with momentary happiness. Which was replaced with doubt.

"Is that... my little girl?" Gattaca within Julie Dolleen Fang asked. "Jessyca?"

"Mom?" she asked. "Are you... my mother?"

"If your name is Jessyca Dolleen Fang..." said she, holding her hand out. Jess felt tears in her eyes.

"Wait. One more thing. What was my daddy's name?"

"You don't want to talk about him do you?"

"I know you and he are divorced. But what is his name?"

"Tyler Fang," said she. "Till he changed it to George Tyler, because of the Army... wanting to protect its secrecy... he worked for intelligence... and the thing was classified..."

"Jason Tyler now. I think...."

"Mom..." she said, walking into her arms. Tears dripped on Julie's shoulder. And she too felt tears as her heart melted. Her own daughter. If only... if only...

Then her new self returned. Gattaca spoke to Julie Dolleen Fang. "You weakling! You are not going to ruin this now!"

Within her brain she felt a slight splitting. That part of her which was Gattaca slipped into a neat little box. And Julie pushed herself to the forefront.

"Mom, can we go to get a pizza? I am starving, and there is this great place..."

"Anything my little one," said she, arms around her daughter as they laughed down the street. "You do look so much like your father..."

From a distance Jimmy Lee watched, with a smile on his face. Surely this was no trick! Maybe Chryshana was sniffing pepper!

Chryshana sniffed the air as she saw Jimmy walk after the two women. "Well, what do you smell now?" asked Billy.

"Nothing. It's like... I smell Jess, and I smell somebody like her. But not like her."

"See, all that worry for nothing," Mike said.

"Oh shut up," Chryshana snapped at him, her tail bristling. "Don't be such a wise guy!"

"Guys, we are here to help Jess, remember?" Billy reminded them as they moved back into the Dragon Dojo.

Jimmy walked into the Rizzo Bro's pizza parlor. It was a fast counter/sit down place where you ordered at the counter, and then have the pie brought out to you. In one corner booth by the window he saw mother and daughter laughing as if they had known each other for years.

He coughed as he came to their table. Jess looked up, as did Julie. "Oh, Mom, this is my boyfriend Jimmy that I was telling you about..."

"Nice to meet you," she smiled, holding out her hand. "From the way she's talking you're her knight in shining armor!"

"What did she tell ya?" he asked. "The good stuff or the bad?"

"Won't you join us?" Julie laughed, indicating he should sit by Jess. Nodding he slipped into the booth next to her. Just then a steaming hot pie was placed in front of all three. Cheese with extra cheese, pepperoni and black olives. Jess favorite toppings!

Rapidly they tore into it. And laughed as if they were a family.

The young man came up to the door of the Dragon Dojo. He knew he shouldn't be here but he had to find out if this woman called Jess Fang was his sister. If the Army found out he was here they would do some things to his father but if this was Jess then their world would change for the better. He knock on the door. Billy came to the door. His blue eyes widen. The tall, lightly build, brown hair and Dragon eyes looked at the Dragon Master.

"Are you a friend of Jess Fang?" asked the young man. He looked around. Billy remain quite for a second.

"Yes I know Jess. She dates my twin brother Jimmy." This took the young man back for a second.

"May I come in and tell you my story Please?"

Billy raised his hand and motioned the man to come in. Once more he looked around and then enter the Dojo. He looked around the room as the Dragon Warriors looked at the stranger that had enter their home. It was Chryshana that walked up to the man. She sniffed him over. "Who or what are you?" Her tail twitched. He looked at Billy.

"I do not know if you will believe me or not but I am Jason Fang twin brother to Jess." Every one looked at the man. There where signs that this Jason was saying the truth, the main was his eyes where the same as Jess.

"He smells like Jess in a family way." Chryshana walked around him. Green cat eyes looked at Green dragon eyes.

"Where is Jess now?" He looked around for her.

"Uh, we need to talk," said Billy Lee.

"Where is my sister?" Jason asked.

"Uh, it's complicated," Billy said.

"She might be in trouble, that's what we're trying to figure out..." said Chryshana.

Back at the pizzeria, the three were having a great time together. None suspected anything. In fact, Gattaca within her old form was having the best time in years. All the dark thoughts were gone! She settled into the routine for enjoying herself between bites of pizza, laughs and sips of soda. Jess and Jimmy both felt warm feelings towards this woman. How could they suspect anything was wrong?

"Wait, you say Jess Mother sent a letter and a picture of her?" asked Jason Fang.

"Yes," Billy said, as they gathered in the Dragon Dojo. He held up the picture for Jason to see.

"And I smelled a funny scent that seemed like one of our enemies..." said Chryshana.

"Have you ever heard of Shadowmaster?"

"Yes," Jason said angrily. "My father Tyler Fang told me about them. And how he suspected they were up to no good all these years. He and I have been searching for years."

"You mean her dad and you..." said Billy.

"Yes. Daddy wants very much to find her. But he was afraid Mommy did before..."

"Why?"

"Mommy was a geneticist. She did experiments on me and my sis when we were younger. And he caught us there in the lab one day. And he took us both away. But the Government split jess and me up, to make sure my Mommy didn't reveal national secrets. but now the project's been abandoned and people have requested info via the Freedom of Info act. So they're forced to release documents."

"Is you dad a solider still?" Billy asked.

"Yes. But now he's trying to stop illegal genetic testing. And he's leading a taskforce on genetic crimes. He's a Colonel now. Colonel Tyler Fang. He changed his name back. But for a long time it was Tyler, because of the Army. But now the projects done, and all the secrets bout it are in the open... there is no need to hide..."

"But Jess and Jimmy are with Jess mother now!"

"We gotta stop her from taking Jess!" Jason cried. "There's no telling what she will do!"

"What do you mean?"

"She cares nothing about Jess. All she sees is an experiment. Daddy told me. I gotta get her away!"

"Calm down. We can't just barge in there. We'll go, but we'll be quiet... as... as..." Billy said. He was going to say "mouse" but for Chryshana's sake he said, "quiet as a Cat..."

"Let's help them," the Dream Guardian said. Jason nodded as he followed them.

Slowly they approached the Pizzeria. Jason felt his heart in his mouth as they came closer. He could see the trio in the window, and sure enough the young woman he saw had dragon green eyes just like his!

For a moment Jess felt something in her mind. A familiar presence she had not felt for years. As if someone was trying to get her attention. Dragon Eyes looked away from mommy and Jimmy to stare into the street. There were Billy, Chryshana, and a young man she didn't recognize at first.

Dragon Eyes looked at Dragon eyes. And her heart leapt. Could it be?

"Are you okay, dear?" the woman she called "mom" asked her.

"Yeah, u look spaced out," said Jimmy, concerned. Then he saw the other Dragon warriors in their usual forms.

And stopped. "Mom" stopped and peered out the window. And her blood froze.

Suddenly the Pizzeria window blew open, and black suited warriors flew in. People screamed and scattered. "Get down!" Jimmy cried to Jess and her mom.

"What?"

"Shadowmaster's paying us a visit..."

Jess hid under the table with her mom, who shook visibly. "What is this madman, honey?"

"It's okay Mom! I'll protect you! Jess, get help!"

"I'm gone!" Jess called. "Stay with her!"

Breaking glass and smashing wood splintered all around them. Black warriors looked left and right. "Where are they!" howled Shadowmaster.

"Where you'll never find them!" came a voice. Jess Drew her sword. "You will pay for this Shadowmaster. For Love, I am Dragoneyes." For Jess was in her Dragon armor, having crawled under another table to transform.

"Ah! So the prodigal girl returns..."

"Who is that madman?" asked Jess mom.

"The man who raised us, Mrs. Fang," said Jimmy. "We'd better get out of here to the street!"

He led her under tables, knowing Billy could not activate his armor without him.

"We gotta help them!" Billy cried to the others.

"But what about..." Chryshana said indicating Jason.

"No time. Jason, can u keep a secret?"

"If it will help Jess..."

"By the Power of the Dragon!" they cried. Billy stepped back and watched his friends change into their armor. Chryshana said, "I am Dream warrior!" And Mike said, "I am Dragon Warrior Chop!"

Jason suddenly underwent his own transformation. Suddenly there stood a young man in the armor of a green dragon, totally different from theirs, but still a dragon motif! He carried a set of nunchukas, which he whirled about his back and shoulders. They were tipped with Dragon claws. "What?" Billy asked.

"You're not the only one with secrets! For I am Dragon Warrior too! Dragon Warrior Greenfang! My father knew your father a long time ago, Billy!"

"Let's go!"they cried.

Quickly they fell into battle. Jess fell upon the shadowarriors with vigor. Soon joined by her friends Chop, Chryshana, and a new warrior in green armor. As Dragoneyes ducked she looked up to see a Shadowarrior swinging at her. Then a nunchukas swung him aside. Dragon Eyes looked into Dragon eyes.

"Who are you?" she asked.

"I am your brother," he said. "Don't you remember me?"

Suddenly Billy reached Jimmy Lee, who was with Jess' mom. Before they could cross their swords, they were both attacked by Shadowmaster. Chryshana and Chop could not help in time. But Jason could.

Rushing from Jess, he swung his nunchukas at Shadowmaster, stopping the blast from hitting Billy. Jess grabbed her mother as Jason was distracted.

"Who are you?"Shadowmaster exploded.

"Somebody who you don't want to meet in a dark alley!" Jason cried. But then he was caught off guard from behind as Icepick hit him with an ice blast.

Shadowmaster grabbed Jimmy before Billy could help. Chryshana and Chop had finished off their shadowarriors with help from Dragon Eyes. They rushed to the rescue as Dragon Eyes got her mother to safety.

"Jimmy!"Billy cried. He could not help.

Before anyone else could even blink, Shadowmaster threw his power around them. A thick smoke spread, cutting everyone off from him. When it cleared, Shadowmaster was gone with Jimmy and Jason.

"Jimmy!" Jess cried, leaving her mother for a minute. Billy shook his head slowly as Chop helped him to stand.

"We'll get him back," Chryshana promised. "No matter what."

"At least my mom's okay..." said Jess. But as she turned, she didn't see her anywhere. She had totally vanished.

Jimmy moaned as he felt a sound like a freight train running through his ears. Slowly he came around, and saw himself in a little cell. Bars blurred into view. Across from him coalesced the figure of another body, a young man in a green jumpsuit. Water dripped down the wall in the dark cell. A camera watched the two prisoners.

"Are you okay mister?" he asked, slowly shaking his head as he stumbled over to his cellmate. Carefully he rolled the young man over. And stopped in shock. The shape of the face looked familiar. What was even more of a shock was when two dragon green eyes fluttered open to look glazedly up at him.

"Oh, what's the number of that train that hit me?"

"I don't know but it feels like it ran through my brain," Jimmy said, helping the young man to sit up.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah. You should see the other guys..."

Jimmy laughed. "Where did you come from?"

"Jess... where is she... is she all right?"

"How do you know jess?"

"She's my sister!"

Jimmy's mouth dropped open. His blue eyes looked at the boy with Dragon eyes. "You... are... her brother?"

"Yes, I came to warn both of you... but then Shadowmaster attacked..."He rubbed his head and looked at his cell mate. The blue eyes and blonde hair with the red uniform of the Dragon Master remind him of Billy in away.

"You know about Shadowmaster?"

"Wait, let's start this over. I'm Jason Fang, Jess' twin brother. And I came to the Dragon Dojo and spoke with Billy, your brother. My dad and I had finally located Jess after all these years... my dad's in the Army, a colonel who works with Intelligence... and he..."

"Wait, you really are Jess' brother?" Jimmy repeated, feeling shocked. "But we just met her mother..."

Jason's face darkened. "That's the worst possible thing!"

"What do you mean? I thought you would be glad to see your own mother... I know you're parents split up and all..."

"Her mother, our mother is a genetic engineer... who experimented on us when we were babies. She didn't care beans about us! Daddy stopped her before she could complete... and she is ruthless..."

"Are we talking about the same woman?" asked Jimmy. "Because I met her just now and she was so happy to see Jess and me..."

"She was all right! She wants to complete her experiment! And she doesn't care who gets in her way!!!"

"How can you say that?"

"She's evil!" said Jason.

His face showed his growing anger. "My father has been pursuing her for years... she even changed her identity to hide from the Government for her unethical experiments!"

"Wait, did you say she was a geneticist?"

"Yes! She has stopped at nothing to try to experiment on humans... and she started with me and Jess..."

"And you say she changed her identity? How does you dad know about Shadowmaster and my dad?"

"My dad knew your dad a long time ago. They learned Karate from the same master. And the secret of he Black Flame and the Dragon. He was in Army intelligence, and still is. And he met mother when he was working on a top secret project... and she found out about the Black flame..." Some of the anger in Jason face die down but the anger was still in his eyes.

"Your dad knows about this? Why did it take you so long to find Jess?"

"Because we didn't realize what was going on. Till my father found out about Gattaca... and who she really was..."

"How?"

"When Gattaca stole some DNA records from the Human Genome project, it set off an alarm online. My dad happened to read the report. And it struck him as being similar. Then he learned about Gattaca. His division in Army intelligence knows about Shadowmaster and his activities. Ever since he's done illegal arms dealing and drug dealing. He put all the pieces together... and realized who Gattaca was."

"What does Gattaca have to do with your mother?"

Jason looked at Jimmy for a moment. His face seem to lose some of it color.

"Gattaca is my mother," he said. "She changed her DNA to try and escape my father. But once he found out about Gattaca, he ran a computer check on her. And then he used special techniques to probe her soul. And he found that Gattaca was one and the same as my mom..."

"Then... Jess' mom is Gattaca?"

"Yes. That is what I came to warn you about!"He grab Jimmy shoulder.

"I... can't believe it! Gattaca... is Jess' mom!!! That would explain..."

"Explain what?"

"Why she's so protective of Jess, and wants her back!" Jimmy cried. He felt tears coming into his eyes as the shock set in. "I cannot believe it!!!"

"She wants to complete her experiment..." Jason said. He saw tears in Jimmy's eyes. Suddenly Jimmy's face crumpled as he buried it in his hands. Gripping the other man's shoulders, Jason patted him on the back.

"Hey there! It's okay! She fools everyone..."

"But she was like a mom to me too," Jimmy said. "To know Gattaca was doing experiments on us... on me and Jess... and she is Jess own mother!"

"Yeah I know. Wait, you said she did experiments on you too?"Jason eyes widened.

"Yes. The same as Jess..."

"What did she do?"

"She wanted to make us the perfect warriors... me and Jess. And she put DNA into our bodies from strong people... she did similar things to the other Shadowarriors... and she knew Jess was only pretending to be dressed as a guy.."

"That would explain why Dad and I didn't find Jess for so long. We were looking for a girl, not a boy!"

Jimmy looked at Jason. And started to smile a little. "I guess you and your dad missed Jess, huh?"

"We've never stopped looking for her. Dad wants so much to meet her, and so do I. And to see she's a Dragon Warrior too!"

"She's more than that," Jimmy said. "She's my girlfriend..."

"I guessed that because why else would you blush when you're talking about her, man?"

Jimmy reached for his hip, and saw his sword was gone. "Yeah. Me too. My sword's gone and I can't transform..."

"I can't either. Not without Billy..."

"It looks like we're gonna be here a long time.."

"Billy will rescue us with the others," said Jimmy.

"My Dad's gonna be here after me too! Jess might meet him too! Say, could you do me a favor?"

"What?"

"Tell me about my sister, till the cavalry comes..."

Jimmy grinned. He knew he was going to like Jason a lot.

"We gotta go after them!" Jess exploded at her friends. They had all met back at the Dragon Dojo, to figure out their next move. And Billy had advised waiting.

"What are we waiting for?" she asked.

"We can't just go rushing off!" Billy said to her.

"We gotta compare notes on just what in the heck is going on here!"

"But my mother and my boyfriend are in danger! Your brother... and you friend!"

"We know," said Mike. "But Billy's right. We gotta figure out what's what... Jason said..."

"Who the blazes is Jason?" Jess asked.

"And what was that other weird warrior doing with you?"

"If you'll just give us a minute..." Billy said.

"Chrys, we gotta save them! There's no telling what Shadowmaster is doing to my mom, and Jimmy..."

"Shadowmaster isn't doing anything to your mom," Chryshana said. "Because she's not who you think she is!"

"What is that supposed to mean?"

"She's working for Shadowmaster," said Chryshana.

"You all should have listened to me... but did you, noo!"

"Oh shut up!" Jess cried, tears in her eyes. "I can't believe you're just sitting back while Jimmy and my mom are in danger..."

"Stop it!" Billy cried.

"Jess, cool it for a minute! Everyone cool it!" Chryshana and Jess stopped arguing. And looked angrily at Billy and Mike.

"What?" Chryshana asked.

"We are not doing nothing!" Billy said as calmly as he could. "We are trying to decide the best way to save them... Jason and Jimmy..."

"But my mom!"

"Is not what you think," said Chryshana. "There's something you should know..."

"Not now," said Mike. "Later. Tell her about who Jason is..."

"What about my mom! What about Jason?" asked Jess, feeling lost. Just then Jon Lee stepped in, with an army Colonel at his side. The two men looked as if they had been talking.

They saw the assembly there, and coughed. "Billy, I heard what happened. And I think it's time for some answers, and some action."

"Whose the Army Brass?" asked Mike.

"Yah Dad we were just deciding what to do because Jimmy and Jason..."

"Yes," Jon said, holding up a hand. "Colonel, this is my son Billy, and our friends Mike and Chryshana..." He shook hands with Mike, and nodded to Chryshana, who nodded back. Jess eyes fell upon those of the Colonel's. And her heart stopped. "Jessyca?" the man said softly.

He came forwards. She felt her heart stop again. "Everyone this is an old friend of mine, back when I learned about the way of the Dragon. He has been following Shadowmaster's evil plans, on behalf of the Army and Us intelligence..."

Jess didn't hear him as she moved as if in a trance. Her eyes met those of the Colonel's, and gentle hands touched her shoulder, and her face. Fingering her cheek as if she were a little girl.

"Jessyca, is that really you?"

"Are you..." she sniffed, feeling tears come. It was too much.

"You were so young when I last saw you," he said, gently wiping a tear away. His own lip trembled. It was a sight to see tears in the eyes of the handsome Army Colonel. He tried to compose himself as he looked her right in the eyes. And those eyes were filled with nothing but love. She saw the name on his black plastic badge, underneath the multicolored racks of ribbons and pins on his left chest. And put a hand over her mouth. And pressed her head into his shoulder as she began to sob.

"Hush, don't cry my little Jessyca," he said to her."I'm so sorry I took so long to find you... but now I have... I sent your brother to find you, to make contact till I could arrive... and he's been captured..."

"I have a brother?" she said, lifting her head.

"Yes. A twin brother that I raised."

"But I met my Mother... and she's gone... oh please you've got to help find her..."

A pained look cam in the Colonel's face. Chryshana noticed this, and knew he knew the truth. Dare he tell her now?"Let's just say that when we find Shadowmaster you will know all about your Mother," Jon Lee said.

"Now Billy, let's figure out what to do!"

Back in the Shadowmaster's hideout, Shadowmaster confronted the two boys as he leered into their faces. "So you thought you could stay out of the Fold forever, did you, Jimmy?" he laughed.

"Not long enough to see your ugly face!" Jimmy retaliated.

"And I see you have a new friend. Who may I ask is this?"

"That's for me to know and you to find out!" Jason exploded. "When my father gets here, you will be toast!"

"My aren't we feisty," Shadowmaster said, leering through the steel bars. "But it will be for naught. For I know Jess won't be far behind, nor will Billy. Then I will have you all under my power!"

From outside the Dragon Dojo, Gattaca narrowed her eyes. She didn't' count on Tyler or Jason Fang getting involved in this. "Just when things were working they had to butt in," she grumbled. "But they won't spoil this chance...."

Jess felt conflicted as they readied themselves to go in. This man who said he was her father, she believed him. But why did he seem to be holding back information about her mother? Was it because of the divorce? And why was Chryshana being so secretive either?

She pace the room. Something was wrong and she wanted to know what in the world it was about now!!! Jess walked up to Billy, Jon and her father. "What is this thing about my mom, don't ya give me the run around either." Dragon eyes stared at her father.

As they provided the main distraction, Billy slipped in after Chryshana. He didn't have his Dragon powers for the first time, and felt a bit afraid. They sneaked around the back entrance of the large office building.

"Follow my lead, and don't worry," Chryshana told him. Already in her dream warrior armor, she led the way. Suddenly there was a shimmering, and she seemed to vanish from view. There were two sentries posted at the back loading dock. Billy crept behind the cars in the parking lot, keeping his eye on the shimmer that was the invisible Chryshana. She was using a Dream power to block her from the guard's perception. Suddenly they looked from one to the other as another Chryshana leapt out, star shooter firing. They yelled, as she stuck her tongue out at them. And raced away. Both of them raced after her. Then the real Chryshana materialized, firing at them from the rear. Her Star shooter fired several rapid rounds, pinning both Shadow men to the wall.

Billy tied their masks around their faces to gag them. Before gagging the other he said, "Tell me where the prisoners are or I'll let her finish the job... with her claws!" Chryshana hissed and brandished her claws. They soon found out where Jimmy and Jason were.

"Jessyca, it's hard for me to say. So many secrets about your past are being thrown into your face..."

"Daddy please!" she cried.

Just then they were surrounded by shadowarriors. Dragoneyes and Chop went into action. Colonel Fang rapidly swung into action as well, taking out the nearest shadowarriors with a well aimed punch tot he jaw. Several of his army associates fell in to help as well, as they had been hidden all along and following the Colonel's lead. Father and daughter were separated in the fray.

"Help!" screamed a woman's voice.

Jess recognized it as Julie Fang. Out of the corner of her eye she saw a Shadowboss holding Julie captive as he dragged her into a side alley. Heart pounding Jess rushed after them. "Stop there Dragonwarrior or she dies..." said the Shadowboss as he held a knife to Julie's throat. "Let her go, now!" Dragon Eyes shouted. She aimed her sword. The others were too busy fighting to notice Jess had vanished.

"Make me, little girl with the sword!"

Jess eyes glowed, and dragon fire arched from the sword. It was far faster than the man could handle, and hit the knife he held. It exploded in a blaze of sparks, before it could cut Julie's skin. Julie suddenly ducked, throwing the man over her shoulder in a Judo throw. He landed unceremoniously at Jess' feet. She pointed her sword at him menacingly. He backed away, and rushed to escape.

"Are you okay?" Jess asked, going to her.

"It's okay! I'm Jess..."

"Is... that you, my darling? Why are you wearing that mask?"

"I'm a Dragonwarrior..." she said, and saw fear in her mother's eyes.

"Here I'll prove it..." Just then Colonel Fang shouted as he rushed into the alley. "Jess, hurry! We must join... you!" From behind she noticed the Shadowarriors were running in fear, some captured by the army troops. It had been a quick fight. The Colonel's eyes met Julie's with anger. "You have a lot of nerve coming here..." he snarled. "Jess, get away from her now..."

"Daddy, what's going on! It's Mom!" she cried.

Seeing the Colonel, suddenly Julie's face seemed to shimmer. She hid her face in her hands as she backed away. "She is your mother, but she's also someone else you know very well..." Jess rushed after her before the Colonel could stop them. And she saw a pair of silver eyes looking at her. Before Julie Fang ran deeper into the alley to vanish into a brick wall. Jess suddenly saw silver hair and bright eyes, and the glimpse of a white labsmock.

"Wait... that was... Gattaca?"

"Yes, your mother is Gattaca," said Colonel Fang.

"I tried to tell you but..."

"No! I won't believe it! It's a nasty trick!"she cried, rushing past her father. "Honey wait I'd not lie to you!" he cried, chasing after his daughter. The Dragon Warrior disappeared as Jess ran down the street crying. ~Why was this happing to her and now this.... Gattaca my real mom.... She wanted Jimmy now... He was the only one that was real in her life. Jimmy!!!!~ She fell down in tears. She heard some one coming behind her.

"Jimmy???" She looked up at father. He too was in tears. Jess' body shook all over. "Why is this happening." Tears ran down her face. "No I must not cry I... am a Warrior...I" Tyler knelt down beside his daughter. He touched her face with his hand. "No you're my daughter as well as a Dragon Warrior. You have very right to cry." Jess held Tyler in her arms and the tears came. "I want Jimmy back." He held her closer. "He must be special to you then if you are feeling this way." Dragon eyes looked up at him. They were red and swollen. "He.... daddy he my soul mate." This took Tyler back a bit. He looked at Jess. She looked so much like Jason but then there was that Double Dragon mark on her shoulder. He wonder about it. "Jess this mark on you," he touched her shoulder, the dragon glowed. "what in the world."

"You are my father that what it was saying to us. I got this from being with Jimmy. We aren't sure why it appear on me but, it what I think as a sign of joining with Jimmy."

"Joining?" he asked her, raising an eyebrow. "Yeah..." she blushed. "He must be a remarkable young man. And you are a remarkable young lady...."

"Thanks. But my mom..."

"We will rescue Jimmy and your brother, and then we will deal with that!" he said firmly. Helping her to her feet he clasped her hand in his. Father and daughter left to rescue them together.

Meanwhile Billy sneaked in through the shadows. He could sense that his brother wasn't in immediate danger. And Chryshana was right near him, in the shadows. It was strangely quiet. They made their way to the cell, to see Jimmy and Jason together.

"Hey, I'm here bro!" Billy said. "Am I glad 2 see you!" Jimmy cried. "But wait, I don't have my sword! Shadowmaster took it!"

"Chryshana, free them. I'll be back soon!" Billy said.

Gattaca snarled as she looked at her reflection in the mirror. How could she have failed? It was that blasted ex husband of hers! He made her loose her concentration. But she had to make good on this opportunity. Did Jess know her secret? Just then she sensed someone coming close. As she whipped around she saw two people coming to her lab. "Gattaca!" cried Chryshana loudly. "You coward!"

"What?" she gasped. To see the cat girl stalking into her lab. "How did you get into here?"

"You'll pay for what you've done to my friends!" Chryshana cried, leveling her star shooter at Gattaca. But this time the Geneticist was ready. She dodged as a shot of stars rained at her. They shattered glassware on one table. "My dear girl, it is not your business..."

"They are my friends, you witch! You hurt Jess, and I won't let you get away with it!" Gattaca somersaulted and flipped over Chryshana's head. To land right in front of Jimmy and Jason. "Stop right there!" they said angrily. Jason had his dragon sword back. And was loaded for bear. "Jimmy, what a surprise..."

"Shut up!" Jason shouted. "How dare you hurt my sister! You'll pay for what you did all those years ago!"

"Well, this is a surprise.... a regular family reunion..." Gattaca said. "But no matter... you are mine now..."

"Don't count on it!" Chryshana said, firing her Star Shooter. Gattaca leapt, and the stars hurtled towards Jimmy and Jason. But Jason slashed them aside with his sword. Gattaca disappeared. Jason anger grew more but he stopped his thoughts. ~NO this is not the way of the Dragon that Jon Lee taught me. I must not go to her level of evil.~

"Hey Jason are you okay?" Jason looked into Jimmy's blue eyes. His body shook. "I be okay in a sec. Seeing my mother.... I lost my cool." Jimmy grab Jason's shoulder. "Hey I be mad at her too if I knew what she was real doing to me and Jess." The three Dragon Warriors left the lab looking for Billy and Jimmy's sword.

Billy was looking for his brother's sword. He walked into a room where the sword was being keep. It hung from the selling. Billy walked toward it. Suddenly the Shadowmaster grab him from behind. "Well now it the Dragon Master. Looking for something or some one."Billy broke free from the Shadowmaster's grip. " I come for my brother and his sword you shadowmonster." Billy flipped over to Jimmy's sword. He quickly grab it and placed it on his back."Out of my way." Billy kicked the Shadowmaster and knock him off his feet. Billy ran down the hall and into Jimmy and the others.

"Hey bro!! I see ya found my sword let's gets this game on a roll now."Billy handed Jimmy his sword as he took out his."For Might!!!Jimmy shouted as he held out his sword."For Right!!!Billy shouted as he too held out his sword, which hit Jimmy's sword. Dragon Fire pour out of the swords as they changed into the Double Dragons. "We are Double Dragons."Both shouted out. They where headed for the exit of the Shadow Dojo, when the Shadowmaster and his evil group of Shadow Warriors surrounded them.

"Your aren't leaving when there is so much to talk about my dear Dragon Masters." The Shadowmaster laughed out loud."Just great we are in real trouble now."Jimmy said under his breath.

Meanwhile Jess and her Father raced into the shadow dojo. Anger filled Jess as she fought the conflicting emotions inside. It was as if they had all been given to her only to be ripped apart.

Sensing her anger, her father said, "Take that anger, honey, and channel it. Don't let it rule you..."

She gritted her teeth as they bust through the windows. And shadowarriors fell upon them at the Shadow dojo. Jess and her father flew into action as if one. Punching and slashing they struggled to find their way to the others.

Chryshana joined them, scattering shadowarriors with her Starshooter. She was glad to see Jess and her father together. Anger filled her catlike eyes as she thought of what evil Gattaca had wrought.

"Jimmy and Billy are in trouble," Jess said. "I can feel it!"

"Let's get to them now!" said Colonel Fang, as they punched through another line of warriors. To the main room they came, with Jess reaching out to her love.

"Hang on my love! I'm coming!"she said in her mind.

Meanwhile Shadowmaster faced off with the double Dragons, and Dragonfang. He seemed rather cool as he brushed back their powers. Why was he so confident? Billy and Jason looked at each other. There had to be something he was holding back. For he seemed to have a strange source of power that was making it harder for them to defeat him! Then they saw what it was. For Gattaca suddenly appeared to his side, concentrating. Slowly her gaze fell upon the three warriors. And she began to reach out with her mind to attack psychically. Adding the force of her mind to Shadowmaster's power.

"Don't!" cried Jimmy. "I don't want to hurt you."

"Stop it, 'mom!'" Jason snarled, aiming his sword at his mother. The energy hit her in the torso, felling her. But she simply picked herself up, and began to morph into something else. "You'll pay for hurting my sister and me all those years ago!"

"My son, you would turn on the woman who brought you into this world?" she asked, turning into Julie Fang again.

For a moment Jason was conflicted. Then he advanced on her again, his sword gleaming. "Don't!" Jimmy cried, stopping Jason from moving at her. But suddenly a pair of silver eyes borrowed into Jimmy's, appealing for help.

Then the two faced off, attacking each other. Billy moved to stop them but was cut off by Shadowmaster! "No, this is between family only!" Shadowmaster leered.

Jess suddenly rushed in, and screamed, "Stop it!"

But then she saw her mother. And time froze. "Why are you doing this?" she cried. And she moved between Jimmy and Jason.

"Sis stay back,"Jason said. But it was too late. Jess threw herself in front of Jimmy. And it was too late. The sword fell, and Jess crumpled.

"Nooo!" Billy and Jimmy screamed.

Jason roared as he attacked Jimmy. His mind clouded with rage. And then Chryshana came on the scene. As Gattaca moved to take Jess, she felt something hit her chest. Something hit Jason, and he turned to see a star in his shoulder. Another knocked his sword from his hand.

"Leave them alone, Gattaca!" came Chryshana's voice. Jason shook his head, and turned to face the Dream warrior. His hand stung from where the star had hit. Before he could pick his sword up, he was stopped by a strong hand.

"Stop," said Chop, grabbing him before he could move.

Billy still fought Shadowmaster. Jimmy moved to Jess, holding her as Chryshana faced off against Gattaca. Jess bled from the wound in her chest. Jason stood in shock.

"You... interfering..." Gattaca coughed as she morphed into her original form. Chryshana held her Star Shooter aimed at the scientist.

"Leave them alone! Or I will fill you with enough stars for your own galaxy!"

"Interfering fool!" Shadowmaster cried, and a series of shadowarriors came to the rescue.

Jess was held by Jimmy who tried to use the power of his Dragonsword to keep her alive. Jason rushed to his sister's side. And then rushed at Gattaca, his sword drawn. Chryshana did not interfere.

"I'll kill you!" he screamed.

"No! Don't do it!" cried Jimmy.

By now Shadowmaster had been beat back by Billy, in his anger. He was astonished at the sudden strength. Chryshana did nothing to stop Jason, as she fired at Shadowmaster to help Billy.

"Stop right there!" came the voice of Colonel Fang. Army personnel moved and stopped the shadowarriors. Chryshana beat Shadowmaster back with her star shooter, Billy at her side. They forced him to stand near Gattaca.

But Jason had Gattaca by the hair, his sword upraised to strike. "Surrender Shadowmaster or I kill her!"

"You little fool, you have done nothing!" Shadowmaster leered.

"Shut up," Chryshana said, leveling her Starshooter at Shadowmaster.

"Don't do it!" cried Billy and Jimmy.

Colonel Fang moved out of the shadows, and ran to Jess.

"Oh no! My little girl! What have you done?" he cried, rushing to her side. He held her. Then looked to his Son.

"What are you doing, mister?" he said.

"It's all her fault!" he cried, his sword poised over Gattaca. What he didn't notice was her left hand reaching down to her belt.

"She's bleeding," said Jimmy. "Don't you see..."

"Let her bleed a bit," said Jason. "She caused us so much pain... and if you try anything Shadowmaster I will kill her! In fact, I might just kill her anyway!"

"No!" cried Jimmy. "Don't do it!"

"She's not worth it," said Chryshana. "Not like this. Maybe me, someday, but not like this..."

"Don't do it," said Colonel Fang. "Don't even dream of it, kid!"

"Dad, I thought you would agree," he said, positioning his sword under Gattaca's chin. "She's caused nothing but pain! She deserves to pay?"

"Do that, and you'll be no better than she is," said Jimmy. "And that's what she wants.

He reached into his mind, and slowly used the power in his body to transform life energy into Jess. He then kissed her as the energy flow threw his lips into her's. She opened her eyes, and looked up at her brother.

"Don't do it, Jason," she said. "Please, for my sake don't!!!!!"

"Jess," said Jimmy. "You're okay!"

"Please don't do it!" said Jess, tears in her eyes.

"But she hurt you!" said Jason.

"You almost killed her yourself," said Gattaca, looking up at him. "A perfect fighting machine..."

"Shut up! Shut up shut up!" Jason cried, his sword moving to her throat.

"I have had enough of this," Shadowmaster hissed, as he moved. But he felt a volley of Stars cutting him off as Chryshana fired.

"Jason don't!" cried Jess as she moved. But Gattaca had suddenly morphed into a serpentine being and wriggled out of her son's grip. Colonel Fang moved to intercept her before she could attack him. She reformed into Julie Fang.

"You cannot kill your mother, can you?" she said, and Jess felt a stab of guilt in her heart.

"You have no right to do this..." said Colonel Fang, holding her. But she morphed back into Gattaca, and dropped to her knees. Then she broke his grasp with surprising strength, and kicked him away.

"I have every right to want what's best for my... for our children!" She said.

"Mom... don't..." Jess cried, moving to her. Jason knelt there, stunned. His sword clattered to the side.

"I've had enough," Shadowmaster growled. So saying he threw a smoke bomb. Choking smoke wreathed around his form as everyone coughed.

"Nooo!" cried Jason.

"We can't let them get away!" Chryshana coughed, and moved to Billy. But Shadowmaster had vanished into the choking smokescreen. Gattaca was moving to get away, but Jess moved after her.

"Stop!" she cried. Gattaca turned to face her. "Why mom, why?" she asked.

"Because, I love you, Jessyca..." she said, changing into Julie Fang again. "And a mother wants nothing more than what's best for her daughter..."

You tricked me! Lied to me!"

"I have been looking for you, Jessyca," she said. The smoke separated them from everyone else. "But I couldn't tell you because Shadowmaster might have killed you... I did it to save your life, to save you..."

"You... separated me from my father and brother! Made me believe they were dead... or they didn't care... how could you?"

"Jessyca, I love you... and I'm sorry..."

"Please, come with me! You don't have to do this!" Jess cried, taking off her mask.

"Can't you stop..."

"When I became Gattaca, I had all the power one could want. But I needed my family. I wanted you... and your brother, but your father took him away. And he would have taken you if I' hadn't hidden you. It would have broken my heart to loose you..."

"Mommy," she said, tears in her eyes. "Why are you hurting others..."

"Jessyca, I am still here and I want to go with you so badly! I want to go back...... and Gattaca... is... very strong... this... is tearing me in two... there is not one person in here... but... Gattaca..." Julie screamed as she morphed back and forth. Gattaca's eyes turned silver as she looked at her.

"Weakling! I won't let you back in..." she said, fighting to herself.

"What's wrong?" Jess wailed. "What's happening to you? Why are you changing?"

"When I became Gattaca, all that was dark... came out..." she said morphing to Julie again. "All these thing I did when I was her... I hate.. .but I cannot... Help me!" Then Jess watched horrified as Gattaca appeared again.

"She is in here. The good person you knew Jess. Julie Fang... but we will never be able to come back with you... that is why you must come with me.."

"I don't understand!" Jess cried.

"Now you know," said Gattaca, gripping her shoulder. Then morphing one last time to Julie. "I am sorry my darling..."

"Mommy!" Jess cried. And Gattaca faded into the shadows.

Jimmy fought his way to her. The smoke cleared, revealing the Dojo had vanished. They were in an old burnt out building. Jimmy held her close, hugging her.

Jason was moved by his father to their side, stunned. "My baby," Colonel Fang said. "I am so sorry..."

"Jimmy, why did she not tell us?" Jess sobbed. Chryshana and Billy also joined the group. "Let's get the heck outta here," said Chryshana.

Back at the Dragon Dojo, everyone sat around as they tried to piece together what happened. Jess was unconsolable it seemed.

Quietly Jimmy talked to her. "Will you be okay my Dragoneyes." Jess looked into Jimmy's blue eyes. She slowly nodded. "Only because you are the true thing in my life that hasn't changed." Jimmy held Jess close to him.

Jason was stunned as his father talked to him. Billy and Chryshana and Mike left the family to talk together in the back lounge. "It was like... there were two different people in her trying to fight for who was dominant," said Jess, wiping tears from her eyes.

Jimmy had his arm around her. Jason looked at his sister, and shook his head. "I am sorry I hurt you Jess," he said.

"It wasn't your fault," Jess said. "I forgive you. But you almost killed her..."

"I wanted to, but I hesitated..."

"I am glad you didn't, son," said Colonel Fang. "But she has done so much misery. I am so sorry Jess that you had to learn about your mother like this..."

"No..." said Jess. "At least I know now... but I got this sense... that our mother was there, buried deep under Gattaca's evil she loves me. Loves you , Me and Jimmy. And if only I could reach her..."

"Jess, are you nuts?" asked Jason. Colonel Fang shushed him. "Deep inside I think she does," Colonel Fang said. "When I first met her I saw she loved me. And when you were both born she had such love in her eyes. She did love you. Julie I mean. And we were happy. But she was corrupted by her desire to learn... and that choice made her what she is now..."

"No, I talked to Julie... mom! And she said she wanted to come back, but Gattaca was stopping her. She said there was two of her fighting..."

"Maybe there is a chance to help her someday," said Jimmy. "WE gotta believe that. Because she did care for us when we were Shadowarriors. She is not totally gone..."

"Julie Fang is in there," Colonel Fang said. "Part of me loves Julie still. And it hurts to know she has been trapped inside a monster called Gattaca. If there's a chance, we will find it... together..."

"Can you forgive me for almost killing her?" Jason asked. "Can you forgive yourself son?" asked Colonel Fang, holding his son in his arms. "You could have killed her then and there, but you didn't. And you hesitated where it counted..."

"Dad," Jason said, and his voice broke. Colonel Fang held him tight. Jimmy and Jess joined the embrace, all crying together. "I love you Dad... and Jason..." she said. "At least she gave you back to me..."

"I know we'll get her back someday, I know it," Jimmy said. Not a single eye was dry at the Dragon Dojo.
