Thanks to a certain BH member who is fond of Fighters and the Banhammer,
the monster listing now has a picture of each critter. Now those of us who
have never been past the Monastery can finally see what PoP monsters look
like.
Not much to report on today. There are a few more comics by Nemorian,
along with a few more character build suggestions for Thieves, Black Belts,
Red Mages and Blue Mages.
What we've got today are a few new comics and fanart. Some were made by
Nemorian and one was made by Emolsifier, steadfast ally of the great Moggle
(Kumog).
By 'more', I of course mean 'one'. It's a continuation of the saga of
the Brotherhood, crafted by Mrod666. In today's episode, a dramatic twist
in the plot has arisen! What will happen next?? Only you can find out, by
way of the link leading to Mrod's list of comics!
The bestiary has been transformed into a friendlier form for those who
use Firefox and/or Opera (long time coming) and the soundtrack for THG
has been given a compressed version for those who don't want to download
each track one by one.
More art has shown up in the galleries, as have a few more comics and
some cleaning up of outdated information in the list of classes and the
related information.
There are now 'tabs' on the class list page, allowing you to click the
name of a class in order to move to its section instantly. It's a little
shoddy (you have to head to the very top or very bottom of the page in
order to see the 'list' again), but it's serviceable.
The contact staff link has been remodeled. Now it acts much like these
newsposts. That is, you click on the name of a staff member and a list of
personal information shows up. It's streamlined compared to the information
that used to be found on Stryfe's FFTHG page; there are maybe half as many
things listed now.
Oh yes, before I forget. Greetings and salutations
to the two newest BH members, Kain and Rand.
Tinkering with stuff; may or may not have a reliable way to comment
on your most (and least) favorite fan comic or piece of fan art. The
blog is gone; wasn't nearly as useful as I had hoped.
Late breaking
update (after all of six minutes): Things go poorly at the moment.
To celebrate the New Year in typical delayed fashion, we kinda sorta
have a web log now. Mind you, it's designed to give feedback for the
fan art and fan comics, so make a point to use it responsibly.
Also, it is painfully tacky to look at for the time being. If I ever
figure out how to fix that (or at least make it closer to what the rest
of the site looks like), I'll do so.
Yeah, updates are coming on a frequent basis now. Stryfe and I are
in the middle of transferring the soundtrack, fan art and fan comics
from his site to mine. With luck, the move should be complete within
the day... but given my attention span, it'll be done within the week.
After a long time (filled with forgetfulness and a short attention span),
I've finally managed to link to the more fan-friendly FFTHG site of the
two, maintained by your favorite leaf-green BH member and mine, Stryfe.
Be sure to pay it a visit or three; the link can be found in the Main
Navigation list of links.
Yet again the rules have been updated slightly. The rule in relation
to advertising of games (BYOND and non-BYOND) has been clarified; with
luck there will be less confusion/uncertainty when it comes to players
and their opinions of games of all kinds. It should go without saying,
but don't make use of the 'bad' examples in game, because they give Bubba
wood. You don't want Bubba with wood.
Version 4 makes a triumphant return. Somewhat. Now you should be
able to download your very own copy of it to play as you like. Think
of it as a trip down memory lane if you've been playing THG for several
years, or an example of just how far the game has progressed in a few
years if you're a recent THG fan.
Say hello to the first of many new links to the site. We now have
a list of terms commonly seen in FFTHG, with refinements and polishing
to come in the future. Now when someone says they're looking for a
Gey party, you shouldn't give them strange looks.
The character guide is more in tune with what the classes are able
of doing nowadays. In other words, they're not based on what classes
were capable of in Version 4 now. It was kind of time to move on.
There have been minor changes made over the past few months,
so much so that I felt it was time for a news post. These range
from new weaponry, to an updated miscellaneous list, to a cluster
of modified or new rules. Plus, well, donate if you feel the need
to do so (preferably only if the site has exceeded its bandwidth
costs and only $2.00 at a time). The link is at the top center of
the site.
So, we have new rules. Some should be familiar to you,
but for the most part, the rules have been renovated to
deal with new 'issues' that have popped up, in addition
to the old ones.
It would appear that we have a set of rules that are
easily accessible from the website, as well as from the
forums. Nothing else of great interest to note for this
update, unless you count actual maps of where the Hunting
Grounds and towns are. You probably do, so, well.
Updates are coming left and right, it would seem. The
skills are now in a HTML format as well; the 'general guide'
is quickly losing content... but the reductions should be
at an end now. Look forward to the poor thing being turned
into HTML in the near future.
The general guide has been streamlined; no more weaponry,
armor or magic information. Also, there are new links that
have the weapon, armor, item and magic info in 'cleaner'
forms. Also, the ten guilds are better represented (i.e.,
they're also in HTML, having been combined with an older
link).
It's been a little over a month, but I finally got around
to doing some much needed spring cleaning for the site. Plus,
the guides are again FFTHG compliant. For now.
What with the release of Version 5, you'll find that the
link to the FFTHG walkthrough is now functional. Once
things are settled, expect to see guides relating to the
monsters of FFTHG, as well as the ten classes.
The contacts page is up to date (again). Mettool, Pogrus
and Thorg make their returns. Technically they never left,
so I'm not sure why I bothered saying they've returned. It's
probably for the best that I not think about it.
There is something new about the site, something that can
not go unmentioned. Well, actually it could, but we'll not
get into that. Anyhow, this is now indeed the official FFTHG
website, version 5 onwards (hopefully onwards, at least).
The Characters link has been updated to reflect recent
Version 5 changes. In addition, there is another link with
information for each kingdom, as well as a timeline of events
and overall history leading up to 'present-day' Darlow.
The dust has settled, and the list of administrators
for Version 5 is (hopefully) set in stone. Some old
names have been lost to the tireless journey of time...
which is to say they're not on the active staff anymore.
I won't lie. I'm using the same general template
as the Dragon Warrior Quest website maintained by
Flash_war. He didn't mind though, just in case some
of you out there were thinking I was doing this behind
his back. In any case, have fun. Learn more about
FFTHG at your leisure.
As with the general layout comes Flash's show/hide
mechanism. I managed not to screw it up during the
transfer from DWQ to FFTHG in design, so yay for me.
