NEWS: UPV grads dominate fish licensure exam
with a 100% passing percentage
Graduates of the College of Fisheries and Ocean & Ocean Sciences (CFOS), UP in the Visayas, continue to dominate the Fisheries Technologists Licensure Exam since the PRC started giving it in 2003. This year, they took seven spots in the top ten from among the examinees who took the test on October 2 and 3, 2006. The College also scored a 100% passing percentage.
This year's topnotchers are: May Penit Olores-no.2, Jomel Guadalquiver Baobao-no.3, Janine Macahilas Caynap-no.5, Faith Callano Villanueva-no.6, Peter Eric Molabola Cadapan-no.7, Anthony Batayola Francisco-no.8, and Ressa Velasco Deldo and Ruby Presas Napata who both landed the 9th place.
In the first exam in 2003, CFOS bagged the top 37 spots with Mr. Harold Monteclaro as topnotcher from among the 215 examinees. In 2004, seven of the top ten passers were also from CFOS with Ma. Cecelia Esperanza S. Braceros leading the batch. In 2005, Ian Joey N. Tajonera was number one while five of his fellow CFOS graduates landed in the 2nd, 3rd 4th and 8th places.
The other 2006 successful examinees are: Lainie Tiongson-Baraocor, Patrick Eric M. Cadapan, Ma. Cheryl Joy E. Emboltorio, Ma. Lissette M. Fasomingo, Andressa D. Gutierrez, Cherry Endriga-Romero, Karen Ann N. Sedano, Mary Grace C. Sedanza and Joseph Albert B. Uluan.(Lyncen M. Fernandez; UPV)

The CFOS Student Council Official website is currently upgrading to a more efficient layout. The previous design was horribly difficult to update an maintain. Hopefully the entire website will be operational by the end of semestral break which runs until the first week of November.
