I absolutely love listening to music and could not imagine life without it. I like all styles, except opera. (Although I have liked some commercial stuff like Pavarotti's "Nesun Dorma", and I love classical music). I like some of todays artists and songs, but not half as much as I used to. I truly believe the standard of the music in the charts has declined drastically over the last 8 to 10 years. I think the charts today is meaningless, with rubbish that nearly always sounds the same. There seems to be no variety of popular artists anymore. They come and go within a year or two! Why is it that the main ones are nearly always young good-looking boybands, girlbands or solo singers? I believe that models have taken over the music industry!! I never follow the charts or watch Top of the Pops anymore, yet a few years ago I would never dream of missing them! If you are a real musician in a band today, writing your own songs, playing your own instruments and trying to make it into the 'big time' you really do have my deepest sympathy. More...
