Meeting Notes
At the February meeting, we finalized plans for the baked potato dinner. Each member will make a poster of a project area of their choice to be hung up at the potato dinner. These posters will inform both the community and other club members of what 4-H is about. Each family will be donating bake sale items for the dinner. Roll call was " If you were to travel anywhere, where would it be and why?" Our citizenship activity was to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to Greater Love Ministries.
Club History
Before 1976, Madrid had at least two clubs, the Madrid Douglas Dames and the Madrid Rockettes. In 1976, these two clubs combined and on November 6, a meeting was held to create a new name for the club. The new name became the Madrid Do-Ettes by combining parts of the two club names. In 1985, a mancate was given that club names could not give favor to either boys or girls. So guess what happened. Yes, another neeting was held to change the name again. They came up with the Madrid Duets. A duet can be any thing from a two person vocal duet to a two person insrumental duet in a band.

Project Show and Tell
We have various club members give project show and tell presentaions at each of our club meetings. Members tell about a specific project area or another topic that they choose. One of our club members recently gave a presentaion on first aid safety. One presentaion from a while back was on bycicle safety and another was babysitting basics. These topics come from things that hve been talked about through the school system, from meetings other than annual club meetings, and mostly prior knowledge. This gives members a chance to work on their communication skills that will be used later in life.
