Alphabet
-Looking at the letter, and then looking at the sound (in parenthesis), lets you know how the letter is always pronounced. After that, compare your thoughts with the example italic word, so you can relate it to something you would more likely use day to day. Also, you should notice quite a few similarities between English and Ido letters.
Numbers

Accents
-The proper emphasis of sounds must be applied here. However, there are only 2 rules that have to be followed:

Infinitives Last Syllable trovar
Everything Else Second to Last Syllable apud

Roots
-The basic regularized root in Ido is one of the major things that sets it apart from Natural Romance Languages, such as English or Spanish, and gives it an edge as a Auxillary Language. These are the basic rules that you should be following for the basic word structures.

Nouns
Singular Ends in -o ponto (a) bridge
Plural Replace -o with -i ponti bridges
Direct Object Add -n, in the case that the D.O. comes before the Subject La ponton abandonis la turbo. The bridge was abandoned by the crowd.

Adjectives
Basic Ends in -a bona good
Greater Comparative plu plu bona better
Greater Superlative maxim maxim bona best
Lesser Comparative min min bona worse
Lesser Superlative minim minim bona worst

Adverbs
Basic Ends in -e bone well

Verbs
-Verbs in most languages are very irregular. In Ido they're not. Take your time and understand that verbs still work on the root system; if you look closely you can see how they are formed.

Present Infinitive Ends in -ar abandonar to abandon
Past Infinitive Ends in -ir abandonir to have abandoned
Future Infinitive Ends in -or abandonor to abandon (future)
Present Tense Ends in -as abandonas abandon/is abandoning
Past Tense Ends in -is abandonis abandoned
Future Tense Ends in -os abandonos will abandon
Imperative Ends in -ez abandonez (you) abandon
