| - | The Adventures of Smurt, Snitch and Dervel |

The Rodent Rebels were three rats with very strong personalities who lived with me and my partner in Plymouth (although Stitch and Derfel later enjoyed the bright lights of London town!) I am currently trying to get a children's book about their adventures published, but here you can find their adventures in cartoon form.

Smurf a.k.a. 'Smurt'
Little, sweet, kind Smurf, a blue mismarked hooded doe, was actually the eldest of the trio and the sister of Bronte - a rat who originally appeared in the written story but who never made it to the cartoon. Gentle, affectionate and very friendly, Smurf was only a year old when she died from a severe, chronic case of myco.
Stitch aka 'Snitch'
Fat black mismarked berkshire Stitch was named after the 'Lilo and Stitch' character due to her extreme naughtiness. Agressive towards Derfel in real life, even though she was a fraction of his size, she bossed him around to the point where he was absolutely terrified of her. Stitch was always plotting her escapes and was one of the most intelligent rats I've ever had, but she was a very squeaky little madame, prone to telling off anyone who got in her way.
Derfel aka 'Dervel'
Derfel was a large, shaggy furred champagne self with an extremely nervous personality. He loved Smurf but was terrified of Stitch, so much so that when we bought some other boys when he was a year and a half old he was promptly taken away from her, and was very happy about it! Derfel liked hiding behind pillows and wasn't the sharpest nail in the box. He and Stitch both died on the 1st July 2005 - he of myco, she of multiple tumours and old age - and in their final few hours they made up their differences and had one long, loving cuddle.
